Empire Field

Our 150 day schedule to complete the Empire Temporary Stadium in time for the BC Lions first game of the season came to an end over the weekend when the Lions took on the Edmonton Eskimos at the new stadium.  Although the final score wasn’t what we hoped for, the game went off without a hitch and it was great watching football outdoors once again.  Thank you to everyone involved in making this project so successful over the last few months.pne-026img_0684

Vancouver Convention Centre

vcc

Recently we were contracted to manage a complete refinishing of 400,000 square feet of Convention Level and Meeting Room Level space for Pavco Inc. at the Vancouver Convention Centre.  This project was fast tracked in order to complete the entire refinishing in a 4 1/2 month window with two full use conventions scheduled right in the middle of construction.  Through extensive pre-planning, assignment of multiple superintendents to control up to 220 men on site, Unitech was able to complete the $18 million in renovations to the front of house areas between April 6, 2009 and September 9, 2009 which included more than $4.5 million completed in the month of August alone.  Notwithstanding the extremely tight schedule, Unitech was able to accommodate nearly double the scope of work and the insertion of a full facility convention for 8 days in May.  We are not only proud of our staff’s ability to successfully complete this project within the timeline required, but also the quality and workmanship of the refinishing itself.
